- BUSINESS FOUNDATION & PURPOSEBUSINESS FOUNDATION & PURPOSE Business & Entrepreneurship Track — School of Purpose Spirit Filled Global Int’l Academy Instructor: Evangelist David M. Olaoluwa COURSE DESCRIPTION Business Foundation & Purpose is a foundational lecture designed to introduce students to the world of entrepreneurship while helping them understand the connection between purpose, value creation, problem-solving, opportunity, and responsible enterprise. Business begins with a need. Every successful enterprise exists because someone identified a problem, discovered an opportunity, created value, and developed a solution that people were willing to embrace. Entrepreneurship therefore requires more than capital. It requires vision, creativity, discipline, courage, wisdom, learning, and the ability to recognize opportunities where others see only problems. This course also emphasizes that business should not be separated from purpose and character. A person can pursue business success while remaining committed to integrity, responsible stewardship, service, excellence, and positive impact. The lecture is structured into three major sections: SECTION ONE — FOUNDATIONS OF ENTREPRENEURSHIP Students learn what entrepreneurship means, who an entrepreneur is, the different forms of business ownership, the importance of value creation, and the mindset required to approach business successfully. SECTION TWO — PURPOSE, BUSINESS IDEAS & OPPORTUNITY Students explore the relationship between personal purpose and enterprise. They learn how skills, passion, experience, problems, customer needs, and market gaps can reveal potential business opportunities. SECTION THREE — ENTREPRENEURIAL MINDSET & PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT Students develop the internal qualities required to build and sustain an enterprise, including creativity, discipline, resilience, problem-solving, decision-making, adaptability, responsibility, and wise risk awareness. COURSE OBJECTIVE By the end of this lecture, students should be able to: Explain the meaning of entrepreneurship. Understand the role of an entrepreneur in society. Identify different forms of business ownership. Understand how businesses create value. Connect personal purpose with business opportunities. Identify problems that can become business opportunities. Recognize market gaps and customer needs. Develop an entrepreneurial mindset. Make responsible business decisions. Understand the importance of discipline, resilience, creativity, and integrity.1
- BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT & MANAGEMENTDESCRIPTION Business Development & Management is a practical training section designed to move students from simply having a business idea to understanding how to build, organize, manage, market, and grow a sustainable business. Having a good idea is not enough. A successful entrepreneur must understand the market, identify customers, develop a workable business model, manage money responsibly, communicate value, build a trustworthy brand, and develop effective sales systems. This section therefore equips students with the practical knowledge required to transform opportunities into structured business ventures. The training focuses on four major areas: 1. Business Model Development Students learn how businesses create, deliver, and capture value. They will understand customers, value propositions, revenue models, resources, business activities, and the basic structure required to turn an idea into an operating business. 2. Market Research & Customer Understanding Students learn how to study the market before making major business decisions. This includes identifying target customers, understanding customer needs, studying competitors, recognizing market gaps, testing ideas, and using customer feedback to improve products and services. 3. Business Finance & Financial Management Students are introduced to the financial discipline required to keep a business healthy. They learn about pricing, revenue, expenses, budgeting, cash flow, financial records, profit, reinvestment, and responsible financial decision-making. 4. Marketing, Branding & Sales Students learn how to communicate the value of their business, establish a recognizable brand, reach potential customers, promote products and services, develop ethical sales practices, and build long-term customer relationships. Overall Training Objective At the end of this section, students should be able to move through the business development process: IDEA → VALUE → CUSTOMER → BUSINESS MODEL → FINANCE → BRAND → MARKETING → SALES → GROWTH The emphasis is not merely on making money, but on creating genuine value, solving problems, serving people, managing resources wisely, and building businesses that can grow sustainably. Expected Outcome By completing this section, the student should have a stronger understanding of how to: Develop a practical business model. Identify and understand target customers. Research markets and competitors. Test and improve business ideas. Manage basic business finances. Develop responsible pricing strategies. Build a clear and trustworthy brand. Market products and services effectively. Develop ethical sales skills. Retain customers and build reputation. Plan for responsible business growth. Core Principle: A business idea becomes an enterprise when vision is combined with value, structure, management, discipline, and execution. This section prepares the student not merely to start a business, but to understand how to build and manage one with wisdom, purpose, integrity, and sustainable impact.1
- BUSINESS GROWTH & KINGDOM ENTERPRISEDESCRIPTION Business Growth & Kingdom Enterprise is a practical and strategic training designed to help entrepreneurs move beyond simply starting a business into building, managing, strengthening, expanding, and sustaining an enterprise with purpose and integrity. Many businesses begin with a good idea but struggle because they lack proper systems, administration, leadership, technology, financial discipline, or a clear growth strategy. This course addresses those gaps by teaching students how to transform a developing business into an organized and sustainable enterprise. The course emphasizes that business growth must be supported by structure. As customers increase, responsibilities expand, and operations become more complex, the entrepreneur must develop systems that allow the business to function effectively without depending entirely on one person. The training is built around four major areas: 1. Business Operations & Administration Students learn how to organize the daily activities of a business through planning, workflow, inventory management, documentation, scheduling, productivity systems, and responsible administration. 2. Digital Business & E-Commerce Students explore how technology can create new business opportunities through social media, digital communication, websites, online services, e-commerce, digital products, and other technology-enabled business models. The course also emphasizes responsible and ethical digital practices. 3. Leadership, Team Building & Business Ethics Students learn how to lead people, delegate responsibilities, build effective teams, establish accountability, communicate clearly, and maintain integrity in business relationships and decisions. 4. Business Growth, Sustainability & Expansion Students learn how to move from survival to sustainable growth. This includes scaling operations, innovation, strategic partnerships, resource management, succession planning, risk awareness, and developing businesses that can remain effective over the long term. OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE COURSE The purpose of this training is to help students understand that: Starting a business is an achievement, but building a sustainable enterprise requires systems, leadership, wisdom, discipline, innovation, and responsible stewardship. The entrepreneur must learn to move from: STARTING → ORGANIZING → MANAGING → LEADING → GROWING → SUSTAINING → EXPANDING EXPECTED OUTCOME By the end of this course, students should be able to: Organize daily business operations. Develop practical administrative systems. Manage inventory and documentation. Improve business workflow and productivity. Understand digital business opportunities. Use online platforms responsibly. Understand basic e-commerce operations. Lead and manage a business team. Delegate responsibilities effectively. Establish accountability structures. Make ethical business decisions. Identify opportunities for growth. Develop sustainable expansion strategies. Build strategic partnerships. Prepare for succession and continuity. Connect business growth with purpose and positive impact. KINGDOM ENTERPRISE PERSPECTIVE Kingdom enterprise does not mean abandoning sound business principles. It means approaching enterprise with purpose, integrity, stewardship, service, excellence, and responsibility. A Kingdom-minded entrepreneur understands that business can become a platform for: Creating employment. Solving community problems. Developing people. Providing useful products and services. Supporting families and communities. Encouraging innovation. Demonstrating integrity. Creating sustainable value. The objective is therefore not simply to build a bigger business, but to build a better, healthier, more responsible, and more sustainable enterprise. CORE PRINCIPLE Growth without structure creates disorder. Growth without ethics creates corruption. Growth without leadership creates instability. But growth guided by wisdom, integrity, systems, and purpose can produce lasting impact. This course prepares the student to move from entrepreneurship to enterprise, from individual effort to organized systems, and from business survival to sustainable Kingdom impact.1
